Yami Velez

Case Manager

Yami Velez is a Smith College graduate who earned her B.A. in Government. She is a first-generation college graduate who was born and raised in East Los Angeles. Yami has worked in business immigration law and is passionate about giving back to her immigrant and low-income communities. She joined Shakhnis Law in hopes of addressing the housing inequalities plaguing low-income and communities of color across Los Angeles. She hopes to attend law school in the future and pursue a career in civil or public interest law.
